Running a ceiling fan in an empty room won’t cool it down. In fact, the room may warm up, because the fan’s motor generates heat. Fans only cool people when they blow air on them.
Offering your home a way to make an impact.
Nest Renew Basic will be free to join, and for those who want to make an even bigger impact, Premium will be available in select markets for only $10 a month.2 Renew is rolling out in early preview by invitation over the coming weeks.

No, Nest Renew does not replace your utility company. It
is a service from Google that complements the electric
service you receive from your local utility. Nest Renew
does not require you to switch utility providers or make
changes to your electric or gas service.
If your utility company offers a clean energy option, you should consider signing up for it. Only your utility company can provide you with the electricity that powers your home. Some of them are even working to make sure that the clean energy they provide customers is produced within their region. Nest Renew is complementary and not an alternative to clean energy options from your utility.
Customers can track their progress and impact in Nest Renew’s new monthly impact emails or check any time at nestrenew.google.com, which can be easily accessed from settings in either the Nest or Google Home apps.
